It is an instrument for testing voltage withstand capacity, and the tested object can be various electrical devices, insulation materials, and insulation structures.
The process of applying high voltage to insulation materials or structures without damaging their performance is called a voltage withstand test. The main purpose of the Hipot tester is to check the insulation's ability to withstand working voltage or overvoltage, and then to verify whether the insulation performance of the product equipment meets safety standards.
For large-scale tests, airlift tests should generally be conducted first. When not receiving the test sample, boost the voltage to the test voltage, calibrate various meters, and adjust the ball gap.
The pressure increase speed should not be too fast and sudden pressure increase must be prevented. For example, when the voltage regulator is not in the zero position and suddenly closes. It is also not advisable to suddenly cut off the power supply. Generally, the switch should be opened when the voltage regulator drops to the zero position.
When the voltage rises to the test voltage, start timing. After 1 minute, quickly reduce the voltage to below 1/3 of the test voltage before disconnecting the power supply
The main test indicators for electrical safety include AC/DC withstand voltage, insulation resistance, leakage current, grounding resistance, etc.
1. Used to detect the edge performance of electrical equipment (such as generators, motors, etc.), determine whether it is live, and thus determine whether the tested object is live.
2. Conduct preventive tests on high-voltage electrical equipment.
3. Conduct on-site inspection of edge fit gaps of equipment such as substations and power plants.
